The sniff test is used to locate the leak, estimate its value and find out if there is more than one.
The machine uses a tracer gas (rare in the air such as helium or hydrogen) injected into the room to detect possible leaks.
This process is done without an accumulation chamber.
The global accumulation helium sniffing test is used to find out if there is a leak and estimate its value.
Location is not possible in this case, the leakage value is made on the entire part contained in the accumulation bell.
OPERATION :
a) No vacuum chamber presence
b) The part is pressurized with helium
c) Presence of a sniffing probe connected to the leak detector
d) An operator will be able to detect and locate the leak by passing the sniffer all around the room
